Maintaining your mnk database

• With this command you can choose from 3 options

• Empty Recycle Bin
• Compact File
• Backup File

Empty Recycle Bin

When you delete any item from the Tree side of MNK, these items will be moved to the Recycle Bin of MNK.

However, you can decide to remove the deleted items permanently.

There are 2 ways to do this. 

1. By using File - Maintain command as described above

2. By using Note - Recycle Bin command. 

• After opening Recycle Bin tab, go to the tab and right click with your mouse. 
• Choose Empty Recycle Bin

Compact File

By using this command, your MNK database will get smaller.

• Go to File - Maintain

• Choose for Compact File and click on OK

• In the following message, you have to click on OK to be able to start the compact process.

• Your mnk database will close, compact and will automatically reopen. 

Backup you mnk database

There are 2 ways to backup your mnk database directly from MyNotesKeeper. 

1. By using the command File - Save As...

2. By using File - Maintain - Backup. 

In the second way, your mnk database will create a copy / backup and put it on the selected directory. 

You can configure your backup directory with Tools - Options  and clicking on the Backup tab.
