Global Search

With this command, you can search the entire mnk database. But it is also possible to reduce the search command to less levels like Current Note, Tree, Subtree or just one page.

When you start this command (Edit - Global Search), you will see a Task pane at the right side of your window.

At this Search Task pane, you can choose from several settings.

Here you can type the string or word you want to search for

Options
Match whole word will search for the whole sentence.

Match case will search with CAPITAL or small letter sensitivity.

Scope

Search content will search all contents.

Search title will search only the titles.

Search attachments will search only the attachments.

Date

Modified : Choose the date when the page is modified.

Created: Choose the date when the page is created.

Search All Notes will search the entire database.

Search Current Note will search only the active Note.

Search Subtree will search the selected Item and it's Subitems.

Search Current Item will search only the active page.

There are several ways to open Global Search Task pane.

1. Use the keyboard shortcut key for Global Search. This will be standard CTRL+SHIFT+F, but I changed mine to F3.

2. Click on Edit-Global Search command.

3. You can add and use the Global Search icon on your Toolbar.

Tips

How can I suggest a fuzzy search or the ability to search within the last search?
Let's say I am searching for "Bob Smith", it will not find "Bob A. Smith".

1. Check Regular expression
2. Input Bob.+?Smith to do search, it will match "Bob Smith" and "Bob A. Smith".

Some regular express examples
\d = find any line that has a digit in it
^\d = find any line that starts with a digit
^ex = find any line that start with the two letters ex
